![]() You can move licences freely to and between USB eLicensers. Licences do not move automatically when a USB eLicenser is connected - you have to drag and drop a licence manually in eLicenser Control Center to move it to a USB eLicenser. If i may comment here, wonder what happens if the user buys another cubase elements 10 license so that he can run it on the same machine without the dongle then would it work? n would the soft license stay intact or would it again get transfered to usb dongle automatically when the dongle is reconnected to the machine If your licence shows in My Steinberg you are able to use the Zero Downtime service if your eLicenser is lost, stolen or stops working. ![]() Make sure you are registered for My Steinberg and you choose the option in the Registration option of eLicenser Control Center to register your eLicenser. If all goes OK your Cubase LE licence will be replaced by a Cubase Pro licence, which will be put on the USB eLicenser. You can then “Enter Activation Code” and enter the upgrade code you bought. When you have a USB eLicenser, plug it in and go into eLicenser Control Center. You can activate the licence after the sale ends if necessary. The important thing is to buy your Cubase upgrade activation code before the sale ends - otherwise the price will double. You do not have to buy the eLicenser from the Steinberg online store - if you can buy a Steinberg USB eLicenser elsewhere (it must be one of those and not an iLok or any other dongle), feel free to buy the Cubase licence online and the USB eLicenser elsewhere. Stock on these USB eLicensers has been in short supply because of the popularity of the sale. When you “Add to cart” you will notice that the store has added a USB eLicenser - Cubase Pro 10 requires a ‘dongle’ to hold the licence. ![]() Choose “Cubase Pro 10”, “Updates & Upgrades”, then you want to select the upgrade from Cubase LE - which, on my screen, is the bottom option but this might change according to what country you are in. If so, go to the Cubase part of the Steinberg web site, and choose “Buy Cubase 10” from the drop down menu at the top of the screen. Go into eLicenser Control Center and check you have a Cubase LE 10 licence showing. In the end it was just as stated - just was throw by the registration - but it makes perfect sense that it was the 'activation" that was key.You can upgrade Cubase LE to Cubase Pro 10 - and you can upgrade in the 50% off sale so long as you act before the sale ends on 3 June. The elicenser control panel then said Artist " updated to 10.5" and shows 10.5 licensed!įorgot to add - thanks for all the help. It worked! I used my elicense app and registered my new USB elicense “dongle” This is not clear and it’s not what I expected ? So do I get to DL and install the 10.5 or the 9.5? So I have activation codes for AI and Artist (9.5? 10.5?) So I just got my software and entered the Activation code and it says “Activation Code for Cubase Artist 9.5 UG AI” So, if you buy Cubase 8, activate it, then buy an update from C8 to C9 and activate that, you have ACTIVATED C9 and would get a grace period update, if in the window, to the current version. So if you ACTIVATE Cubase 9, 9.5, or 10, after the Grace Period, you get Cubase 10.5 (of the same product line, of course, such as Pro, Artist, Elements, etc.) And, it should be noted that UPDATING or UPGRADING to a new version counts as an ACTIVATION to the new version. If ANY version of Cubase is ACTIVATED (not registered, purchased, etc.), within the Grace Period, that version will be automatically updated to the version that the Grace Period is applicable to (i.e. “Customers who have activated Cubase Pro 10, Cubase Artist 10 and Cubase Elements 10 or earlier versions since October 16, 2019, are or will be eligible for a free, downloadable Grace Period update to the latest version, respectively.”į you go here the elements (9.5 included) is cheaper than the AI/LE to artist 10.5 Ĭorrect. The others have version 10 from AI - which shoudl be the same(?) and SHOULD be within the grace period for 10.5 if I read SB s info correctlyĪs for Cubase Artist 9.5 - if I read the para below from SB is says ***** or earlier versions since**** ![]() As I’ve said, I’ve had one (Sweetwater) say: “This upgrade is good for upgrading from Cubase Elements version 6-10.5” but as I’ve said they’'re out of stock. It SHOULD update from Elements, but then again there’s always the potential if it’s not explicit. The AI/LE is “LESS” of a program than ELEMENTS. This is really frustrating… even chatiting with SB US support and they didn’t really know and were “guessing”. I really hope someone at Steinberg can respond and clear this up. ![]()
